Presentation Topic: The Power of Words
Bullying is not an issue limited to children, youth and schools. It is a challenge that affects all ages and sections of the population. Studies have shown that there is a high rate of bullying among older adults and those in care settings. Some of the items we will cover:
- What is bullying?
- Why do older adults bully?
- How to identify a victim?
- How can staff help resolve these issues?
This will be an interactive training. Bring your examples of bullying in your communities and your best practices and resolutions to these situations. If you have anti-bullying policies, a code of conduct that residents sign, or other resources please bring them along as well.
