We will identify the most common causes of confusion in the older adult and the importance of establishing baseline mental status. We will identify sudden onset confusion and the disposing and precipitating factors for delirium development. We will review high-risk medication for delirium development and identify non-pharmacological approaches to delirium management.

    Betty Robison

    Betty Robison is the Gerontology Educator at the Aging Institute and teaches at UPMC, the University of Pittsburgh and Chatham University. Her career has spanned 45 years working in acute care, home health and long term care. She has been at the Aging Institute since 2006, and is responsible for program development for healthcare staff and for the community.
